How Important is it to Keep Your Vehicle’s Alignment Correct?

How Important is it to Keep Your Vehicle’s Alignment Correct?

Alignment, Suspension Services

th-secure-clampingYou might think all is right in your vehicle’s world if you don’t hear any weird noises, or it rides smoothly, or it stops when it’s supposed to and accelerates as it should.

So, how might you tell if the wheels need aligning on your vehicle? There are some very simple signs to look for. Does your vehicle pull or drift one way or the other when you are driving down the road? Is your steering wheel off center? Are you experiencing un-even tire wear? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then it’s probably a good idea to have your wheel alignment checked.

What are some things your vehicle might experience that are not commonly associated with your alignment being out of calibration? Brake system issues will cause you to have a pulsation sensation in your brake pedal when stopping and is almost always a brake system related issue and not an alignment issue.

If your vehicle shakes or vibrates at certain speeds, again, this is not usually an alignment issue but rather a tire balancing issue. If you hear noises such as clicking when you turn sharply or other clanking or rattling types of noises when you make turns or go over bumps in the road, you probably do need an alignment, but you also probably have a suspension part or two that needs addressing first before getting your wheels aligned.

The single biggest cause of bad tire wear isn’t mileage; it’s having a mis-aligned vehicle, usually accompanied by a lack of tire rotation. If your front tires are showing edge wear while the center of the tire still looks like new, then you have an alignment issue that needs to be corrected.

Instead of guessing, you can be sure by visiting Postle’s Tire Barn. Postle’s has invested in state of the art equipment to stay ahead of the ever changing automobile landscape. Their state of the art Geoliner 790 computer alignment machine is one of the best on the market today. But it takes more than just a machine; it takes people who know what they are doing and the experience to get it right the first time. Our reputation in West Alabama is that we’re the best. We actually have automobile dealers bring us their problem cases so we can repair them. That should tell you something about our quality of service.
