5 Reasons To Buy Used Tires Over New Tires

Why Buy Used Tires?

Every vehicle needs new tires at some point because of the regular wear and tear they endure on the road. However, buying new tires is not something we usually want to spend our money on. While they’re a great investment, used tires could be just as good in many circumstances. Here are 5 reasons you might consider buying used over new when the time comes.

1. Trading In or Selling Vehicle Soon Used Tires

If you need tires but you’re trading in or selling your vehicle soon, it may not be worth the investment to install a brand new set on your vehicle. When trading your car in, the dealer will usually put new tires on it anyway. If you’re selling it, the new driver may want to customize the look with new tires, or may be planning to replace them.

2. Just A Replacement Used Tires

If you’re only replacing a tire or two, it’s probably not worth it to buy a whole new set. By the time the ones you didn’t replace wear out, the new ones will probably be worn out some as well. Buy used! The next time you need a full set, then consider buying new.

3. Environmentally Friendly

Buying used tires is a form of recycling. When you buy used, you help to decrease the amount of rubber thrown into landfills. Rubber has a harmful impact on the environment, so the more you buy your tires used, the more you help in supporting a positive environmental change.

4. Save Money

If you simply just don’t have the money when you need to replace your tires, consider buying used. Many times, used tires are practically new, and you can use them for almost just as long as brand new ones for a fraction of the cost.

5. Can Be In Great Condition

Used tires can be in close to brand new condition. Sometimes they’re taken from vehicles that were damaged in an accident, flood, or other tragedy where the car was totaled, but the tires weren’t actually damaged. Also, when people buy new cars, they may buy new tires to customize the look of their vehicle. In any of these cases, the used tires are basically new, but are still sold much cheaper.
