Our Team

Championship Teams are nothing new to Tuscaloosa and West Alabama. Building a championship team takes time and when it all comes together, the team functions as one and great things happen. The team at Postle’s Tire Barn has over 200 years of combined experience in the tire and automotive business. The average length of employment for team members at Postle Tire Barn is more than eight years.

Our team functions as one, and has one goal: to provide our customers with the best experience possible when they trust us with their tire and automotive repair needs.

Owen and Pat Postle, Founders

Our Founders

Owen and Pat Postle founded Postle Tire and Auto in May of 1981. The original store was located on what is now Paul Bryant Drive, across from Druid City Hospital.

By 1981, Owen was already a 25+ year veteran of the tire and automotive business. Tuscaloosa was home, and opening a home town business had always been a dream of his.

Some twenty plus years later in 2003, Owen and Pat felt it was the time to turn the business over to their son, Jeff. Owen continued to work at the store until his passing in March of 2014. Pat continues to work alongside Jeff as they carry on Owen’s Dream. Postle’s Tire Barn is a family owned and operated business. The owners are active in the community and treat their clientele like family.

The Owner

Jeff has been an automobile and a tire and wheel enthusiast for virtually his entire life. One of Jeff’s first vehicles was a 1979 Apple Red Pontiac Trans Am with the Phoenix decal on the hood. He still has it, and it’s in mint condition. His enthusiasm and love for cars goes hand in hand with his chosen profession. It also encapulates one of his father’s favorite sayings: “Do what you love and love what you do.”

Jeff’s parents, Owen and Patricia (Pat) Postle opened Postle Tire in 1981. From day one, and for more than 20 years, Jeff either worked in or managed (or both) every department within the business.

In 2003, Jeff bought Postle Tire from Owen and Pat and renamed it J. Postle’s Tire Barn. Jeff’s enthusiasm and love for the business will keep it going another 35 years.

Michael Edwards, Chief Technician

Michael Edwards is an award winning automobile technician. Mike has been with Postle’s for more than 20 years. Mike and his team specialize in front end and four wheel alignments, brake diagnosis and repair as well as suspension and drivetrain diagnosis and repair. If Mike and his team can’t fix it, it probably cannot be fixed.
